Director's Corner
June was an exciting month at the Westmoreland Public Library of Sumner County! From launching our Summer Reading Program to expanding community partnerships and welcoming more visitors through our doors, we continue to see our library grow as a place for learning, connection, and opportunity. Thank you to everyone who attended a program, checked out materials, volunteered, or simply stopped by to say hello. Your support helps make our library a vibrant community hub, and we're excited for everything still to come this summer.

Expanding Access Through Interlibrary Loan
Looking for a book or movie that isn't on our shelves? Ms. Lori can often borrow it from another library through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service!
Â
This free service connects our patrons with libraries across Tennessee, giving everyone access to an even larger collection of books, DVDs, and other materials. At the same time, we're proud to share items from our own collection with libraries throughout the state.
Â
If a title isn't available through Interlibrary Loan, Mr. Colton will often work to add it to our own collection whenever possible, helping ensure our patrons have access to the books and materials they want to read.
Â
This fiscal year we have:
-
Borrowed 32 items for our patrons.
-
Loaned 90 items to libraries across Tennessee.
Â
One of our favorite moments is seeing a child light up when the book they've been waiting for finally arrives. Those smiles are a wonderful reminder of why these services are so important.

If you can't find what you're looking for in our collection, just ask! Whether it's borrowing an item from another library or adding a new title to our shelves, our staff is always happy to help connect you with your next great read.
Looking Ahead
We're excited for another busy month with:

Summer Reading adventures
-
Creative Connections programs
-
Teen Advisory Board activities
-
Workforce development planning
